Disease CRACKS ON THE SOLES
   
Treatment

Inspect the palms also for cracks. Inspect the cracks for depth, white fungal infection or inflammation.

 

Keep the foot dry.

Wear thick, soft and absorbent socks, and soft canvas shoes. Wear soft chappals at home.

Forment in hot water tub x for 10 mons x 2 times daily followed by drying and application of ointments.

Locally apply Salicylic acid ointment or

Vaseline or Petroleum jellu.

Tab. Grisocin 250mg 1 tds x 21 days.

Tab. Wysolene 5mg 1 bd x 10 days

 

If the cracke are white at depth.

Locally apply Cloben-G, CANESTEN or SURFAZ ointment. (Antifungal ointments)

 

If a crack is inflamed, swollen with cellulites.

Cap. Cefalong DS 1 bd x 5

Tab. Combiflam 1 tds x 3

Refer to surgeon for incision if abscess is formed.

 

If crack is very deep. Non healing/ foul smelling

Test sensation of surrounding skin. If absent.

Ask for skin biopsy to rule out Leprosy.
